Our founder, John Forbes, drives our approach. After qualifying in the 1970s, and working for an International firm, John moved to industry where he worked as General Manager in a leading Company followed by 10 years as Group Finance Director of an International group – who remain a client today.

This commercial background influences our whole approach, enabling us to understand a client's business from a rather different perspective, perhaps, than Accountants who have spent their whole lives working in an Accounting Practice. After all, John actually worked in positions where he was the client of several leading firms of Chartered Accountants, so he knows how clients can feel – the good and the bad!

As Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors we specialize in providing Corporate and personal tax, accounting, audit and planning services to businesses with a turnover between £100,000 and £2million. Normally these would be family businesses managed by their owners.

We operate payroll and VAT services for number of clients but we do not normally carry out basic bookkeeping – and we generally refer work on Trusts, Insolvency or Pensions to specialists we know in these areas.

As a Partner in Practise of TAS Software we offer wide experience in helping clients instal and gain maximum benefit from the TAS range of accounting and payroll software.

But we also have long-standing larger clients for whom we get involved in matters as diverse as acting as Non-executive finance director across several continents, managing business planning systems, and negotiation and due diligence on acquisitions and investments: work stemming directly from John’s commercial knowledge and background.
